Andy Warhol Group (Belgrade/Serbia)

Renowned American conceptual artist Andy Warhol once foretold that one day everyone will have their own 15 minutes of fame. For the namesake band from Belgrade that moment is closer than it seems, as close as their performance at the Street Musicians Festival at the Suburbium.

Dedicated to the legacy of the most prolific artist of the pop-art era, including every aspect of his creativity, this band was formed as a side project to the exhibition about Warhol by Belgrade artist Gorana Kosanovića. During their show, the classic rock band setup is accompanied by the vocal-dance group “Srebrne strele” (Silver arrows), while their genre can be placed best somewhere among the fantastical chambers of the “Factory”, where Lou Reed or Jim Morrison were often seen, among others of Warhol’s many famous friends. Who knows? Maybe something similar will happen in our Gradić–during festivals and carnivals anything and everything is possible…
