Dunavski Buzukije (Belgrade/Serbia)
A mysterious person from Belgrade’s underground, poet-singer-guitarist without a true identity, arrives to the Suburbium, to share his secrets with the visitors of the Street Musicians Festival. Dunavski Buzukije enjoys his iconic status among the admirers of experimental artistic expression, and offers a singer-songwriter saga with unusual guitar harmony, and even more unusual lyrics.
This interesting artist sees music as an endless treasure trove, and which simply captivates eternal, infinite exploration. It is said that the myth of Bouzouki owes its name to the Greek instrument, which he used during the early part of his career, only later “shifting” to guitar. Equally prone to experiments with words, his poetic images are inspired by everyday life, which skillfully bridges the surreal world with an atmosphere not unlike Joyce’s novels and stories. Beside a number of his original lyrics, his set list also includes a loose cover of “Bessame mucho”, as well as a musicalized poem “U Kopitarevoj gradini” by Milorada Pavić.
