Katarina & Ljubica Trio (Belgrade/Serbia)

A beautiful and serious musical story arrives at the Street Musicians Festival from Belgrade, with Katarina Ranković on piano, and Ljubica Damčević on violin. An original blend of Balkan melodies, and contemporary jazz and classical tones is what makes the foundation on which they create their performances, just like a fusion of music, literature, theatre, dance and visual arts, in eternal search for mutual understanding, and finding beauty in the given moment.

Highly educated young musicians from Belgrade emerge as a team in 2013. True to their interests, they develop their own unique way of expression, while the extent of their artistry can be seen through the multiple collaborations with various artists, such as etno-jazzer Luis, opera diva Katarine Jovanović and DJ Vida Marjanovića. Also colorful are the places where they had their performances – from the “temple” of classical music “Kolarac”, to the Museum of Science and Technology, and the Swiss Jazz Festival. In their spare time, they musically enrich the theatrical performance “Un Petit Prince”, as well as the short-reel film “Cleaner”. Their performance in the Suburbium will be completed with the inclusion of percussionist Petar Zorkić.
