Miki Solus (Zagreb/Croatia)
Miki Solus is one of the leading regional music sensations for a couple of years already, more precisely from the moment when his mega hit “Hipster” hit radioland and echoed through the ether. Several years later, and today, this screwball from Zagreb is in full force, bent on showing himself off in true light to the world, and to the Street Musicians Festival.
Being a successful pop musician today commonly implies a strong techy base and an industry which pushes the “entire thing” to the top. But, it can certainly be a different story too, which Solus’ career proves time and again: above all else his music is stripped to a creative rhythm section with some skillful singing-rapping combos, and pure virtuosity by this talented pianist and accordion player at the black and white keys. The singer-songwriter who said no to guitar, theaccordionchansonnier, the illegitimate child of Dr Dre and Chopin… these are just some of the reviews given by critics, who almost compete in who will give a more seductive compliment to describe this artist. Meanwhile, the artist is releasing his sixth studio child Rep na harmonici(Rap on Accordion) with his latest megahit “Zlatan Ibrahimović”. Now, how can you miss out on something like that?
