Senor Markusen (Barcelona/Spain)

Senor Markusen

An exceptional, cosmopolitan story arrives to our romantic Gradić directly from Barcelona, more precisely – from Gaudi’s world famous Park Güell. For many years now, Senor Markusen has been the leading artistic attraction adorning the most beloved tourist attractionof the capital of Catalonia, while his signature calling cards remainthe three long wooden wind instruments with an Australian Aboriginal descent – the didgeridoo.

Markos Andreu Gasol is in fact a one-man-band, or more precisely – a one-man-soundsystem, since, beside his deep vocal frequencies, he single-handedly creates a complex rhythmical base with the help of his cajon, including a wide variety of other percussion elements, periodically even adding a layer of keyboards, too. This amazing contraption creates a hypnotic body-moving, low-tempo, dance atmosphere interwoven with deep spiritual energy, connecting body and soul of listeners, breaking all barriers whilst he sends them on a unique journey experience through continents and time. As a musician and lecturerMarkusen is active from 2002, and is continuously present at all important festivals of street art, and art in general, across Europe and the world, promoting the ideas behind his musical project SoLo. And on top of all that, the man is an architect, as well! This unique artist arrives to the right place, at the right time: Novi Sad and Petrovaradin will welcome him from 1st to 3rd September at the Street Musicians Festival.
